How to use dry saunas?
A dry sauna is a great way to improve your health and well-being. However, to achieve the desired effects, it is important to know how to use a sauna. Before each treatment, you should clean your body thoroughly and then dry it completely. According to Scandinavian tradition, many saunas have a nude area, which means that you should enter the dry sauna naked to ensure proper heat exchange. It is also recommended not to wear a bathing suit in the dry sauna, especially if it is wet, as it can cause skin burns. Instead, bring a towel with you to the dry sauna and spread it over your entire body, including your feet.
How long can you stay in a dry sauna?
A single session should last between 8 and 12 minutes. Afterwards, you should gradually cool down your body by taking a cold shower or bath or, according to Finnish tradition, go outside first to get some fresh air. Thanks to the alternating effects of heat and cold, the body undergoes thermoregulatory processes, improved blood circulation and muscle relaxation. After cooling down, it is important to rest for at least half an hour. You can repeat this series as part of a sauna visit maximum three times.
